From a handful of ideas to a sinister anthology.
Brainstorming ideas for a novel, I ended up with a bunch of micro-stories that, in and of themselves, were entertaining, like the little anecdotes shared around a campfire on a cold night, somewhere remote… What if that were the book? I thought, it could be entertaining and challenging… Not just the result, but the journey, especially when setting a character limit for each story, but not just any number would do.
Three has always been seen by various cultures as a mystical, magical number. Three times three was the multiplication of that mysticism, an occult science that lent itself attractively to the development of this book… and I turned it into a structure. A symbolism that would be the basis for three: horror, love, and other fictions.
